In 1998 I had three options – accept an offer to work for Barclays Bank, start my own company or take a three-year contract with National Power. I decided on the latter, thinking that once my contract was up, I would take some time out to settle down and start a family. When my second child started school, I returned to working in finance and I found my calling as a mortgage advisor. The industry had changed so much since I had started, so I put my heart and soul into updating my experience, training, and qualifications. I always believed that you should look after your clients fairly and it was with this attitude that I excelled in my field. They say that once you’ve worked for yourself, you’ll never want to work for anyone else again and it’s true. Soon after getting back into finance I decided to go out on my own and I started Vitality Mortgages Ltd. My family are the most important people in the world to me and I try to treat every client as if they were family.
